Awesomely tasty. Refreshingly easy. Enjoy this on pancakes, oats, bread, plant-based yogurt, topped with tasty berries…anything that gets you jammin’. This Blueberry-Grape Chia Jam is so simple to make with just 3 ingredients: frozen blueberries, chia seeds & grape juice (not-from-concentrate).
Blueberry-Grape Chia Jam
Makes: About 1/2 cup
Ready In: 5-10 minutes
Good For: Breakfast
Ingredients:
1 cup fresh (or frozen, thawed) blueberries
3 tsp chia seed
1/3 tbsp of grape juice (not-from-concentrate)
1 tbsp of maple syrup (optional)
Instructions:
No-cook method:
Combine ingredients in a mixing bowl
Cover, and let defrost for about 3 hours, or in the fridge overnight
After blueberries defrost and are nice and plump, mash berries to release extra juices
For a thicker jam, add a bit more chia seed, mix, and let sit for 15 more minutes. For thinner jam, add a tad more juice
Cooked method (10 minutes):
Add blueberries and grape-juice to a saucepan and let cook on low-medium heat for 5-10 minutes
Stir occasionally until blueberries start to burst
Mash berries to release extra juices
Remove saucepan from heat
Add maple syrup to taste and stir
Mix in chia seeds and return to boil for 1 minute to make seeds tender
For a thicker jam, add more chia seed. For a thinner jam, add a tad more juice.
Serve warm, or let cool completely and refrigerate.
